I’m really never ignorant
But honestly I think having a Mormon as president would be the worst thing that could happen to our country. I have no adversity to any other religion, though I don’t consider myself religious, I have been personally involved with enough close minded lds families and individuals to know first handed how secluded this religion appears to be. Not only does the religion script your life, its base is degrading to women, close children off to reality, make you get permission to be able to pray at a temple to their god, and mostly forbid their families to befriend those outside the church, no matter how humble of an individual you may be. It’s all about preaching and pushing their views and there is no separation between church and state in their religion. Growing up in a state that has the most Mormons per capita (yes more than Utah) I also know enough people (mostly women) who have left the church based on how controlling they are. And seeing this santorum statement of having “separation of church and state makes [him] sick” not only makes me angry, being as Americas founding fathers founded the country that way (whether its always been that way or not), but makes me realize how everything our country has worked towards could suddenly reel backwards. And honestly it scares me.
